Musis Arnhem
The original Musis Sacrum building dates from 1847, when it was built for a Dutch-German singing competition. It was redesigned in 1889 in a neo-Renaissance style featuring distinctive domed towers. A major reconstruction by Van Dongen-Koschuch architects, costing approximately €20 million, restored the hall to its former grandeur; Queen Máxima opened it on 12 January 2018 by striking a ceremonial gong. The main hall, the Muzenzaal, seats 870 guests and hosts over 100 events per year across classical, dance, and contemporary music. The resident orchestra, formerly Het Gelders Orkest, is now known as Phion — the orchestra of Gelderland and Overijssel. Ticket prices vary by event — check the programme on the website.
