Park Zypendaal & Huis Zypendaal
Huis Zypendaal was built between 1762 and 1764 for the Brantsen family, prominent Arnhem regents. The house is a country manor rather than a castle, though locals have long referred to it as the kasteel. The grounds combine a formal French-style garden close to the house with a romantic English landscape park further out, featuring impressive trees, rhododendrons, springs, and ponds. The estate is part of the Geldersch Landschap & Kasteelen network of seven historic Guelders estates. Guided tours of the house interior, which retains its original 18th-century collections and a marble hallway with an inlaid chain motif, run on the first and third Sunday of each month.
